| dc.description | Se estudió el flujo de un fluido newtoniano que circula en regimen laminar por un canal plano. El flujo es forzado por succión o inyección constante y uniforme a través de paredes porosas y rígidas que se hallan a distintas temperaturas. Se supuso que la viscosidad depende de la temperatura, por lo que la ecuación de Navier-Stokes se halla acoplada a la ecuación de la energía. El problema admite soluciones de similaridad que fueron analizadas en detalle. Se desarrollaron rutinas numéricas basadas en métodos espectrales que resolvieron eficientemente tanto las ecuaciones estacionarias como las ecuaciones dependientes del tiempo. Esto permitió realizar la descripción de los campos de velocidades, presiones y temperaturas para un amplio rango de valores de los parámetros. Por otra parte, se analizó la estabilidad temporal y espacial de las soluciones estacionarias de similaridad. A tal fin se implementaron nuevos códigos numéricos que resuelven los problemas de valores característicos que surgen en este tipo de análisis. El problema en dos variables espaciales (sin efectos de temperatura) fue resuelto mediante un código en diferencias finitas. Esto permitío investigar las relevancia de las soluciones de similaridad bajo determinadas condiciones en la boca del canal. | - |
| dc.description | The flow of a newtonian fluid along a plane channel was studied. The flow is driven by constant, uniform suction (or injection) through porous rigid walls at different temperatures. The viscosity was assumed to depend on the temperature and thus the Navier-Stokes and the energy equations are coupled. The problem admits a similarity solution which was analised in detail. Numerical schemes based on spectral methods were developed. These routines efficently solve both the time dependent and the steady state equations. This fact allows us to describe the velocity, pressure and temperature fields for a large range of values of the parameters. The temporal and spatial stability of steady similarity solutions was also studied. New numerical codes were written to solve the characteristic value problems which appear in this type of analysis. Finally, the two dimensional problem (without thermal effects) was solved using a finite difference code. The importance of similarity solutions under given conditions at the entrance of the channel was investigated. | - |
